A Message from Ms. Elmslie!
Dear Pioneer Park Community,
It has been another productive and busy week at Pioneer Park! We were very fortunate to host a group of Inuit students, travelling with their teachers and Elder, from Nunavut! They performed a dance for us and showed us some traditional Inuit games that use the bones of caribou and seals. We were very very privileged to listen to their traditional language of Inuktitut which is still very much in use in the far North.
Wednesday we had our first of many pizza days! There has been some confusion about how pizza was ordered on School Day this month. Please look for information on how to order pizza for November coming your way soon.
Today is our first spirit day honoring Terry Fox by wearing red and participating in a ‘Walk/Run’ this morning. Many families have been impacted by cancer and our Pioneer Park community raised over $1150 for cancer research! Great work, panthers!.
And, for students moving classrooms, we did a trial run to our new classrooms this afternoon so we are prepared for Tuesday. It was a smooth transition!
