A Message from Ms. Elmslie!
We have enjoyed another fantastic week at Pioneer Park this week! A highlight this week included the visit from the Eastwood Secondary School’s drama troupe. They performed a drama skit including singing and dancing featuring the Twisted Fairytales of Cinderella, The Gingerbread Man and Hansel and Gretel,. Please ask your student what they liked the most about the performance!
We have 2 special new extra curricular activities starting soon! The first is a Debate Club initiated and organized by 2 students (Aubree and Eshaal) under the guidance of Ms. Losey. The student’s goal is to invite others in grades 3 to 6 to become confident speakers, thoughtful listeners and critical thinkers through debate. It is wonderful to witness student leaders follow their interests, include others and lead their peers.
A second extra curricular activity will begin on November 17th-Magic Club under the guidance of Mr. Whalen. What is a Magic Club? It is an ultimate strategy-based card game. All of the materials, specifically card decks, will be provided free of charge and Mr. Whalen will teach the students all of the required skills to play. The only thing the students need to bring with them to Magic Club is a positive attitude!
Pioneer Park is so fortunate to have such dedicated educators who go above and beyond every day for their students. Two teachers were highlighted in today’s message; but, I have been happy to witness the extreme care all educators at Pioneer Park give their students.
Pioneer Park is in search of some non-perishable and perishable, healthy, individually packed food items for students. Some products could include: yogurt tubes, fruit, granola bars, Bear Paws, cheese strings, drinking boxes. The items can be dropped off in the office and we would be very grateful.
