Thank You for another great year!

We have experienced some staff changes and we want to share them with you. As of this letter, we still have some LTOs (Maternity Leaves etc) that remain unfilled. These positions will be reposted and filled in August.

Staff/Site Changes:

We are awaiting some renovations this summer. Our school will receive a paint job in all 4 hallways, the gym and library. We will get a new roof, new floors in all 4 hallways and 2 sets of new exterior doors. We will also have a Hockey Mural painted from floor to ceiling, wall to wall in one of our hallways as a tribute to Mr. Sanderson’s Panther Hockey Program. We currently have 4 portables, however we will lose 1 over the summer as we only require 3 due to a drop in enrollment.

Our current LTO teachers/DECEs end their assignments at the end of the school year so we will be losing Mr. Petker, Miss Key, Miss Harrow, Ms. Yang and Mrs. Baker. They have been a wonderful addition to our team and we wish them well as they pursue a permanent position with our board.

Mrs. Seupersaud will begin her maternity leave in September and her LTO position will be filled in August.

Mr. Wiseman is currently our ESL teacher. ESL teachers are centrally placed and transferred so Mr. Wiseman will be moving on to a new assignment and we will welcome Suzanne McQuain.

We will continue to have 2 extended day classrooms, Room 10 and 11. We will welcome Miss Ayotte to a permanent position as AM Extended Day DECE and we welcome Mrs. Borowska as PM Extended Day DECE

Mrs. Colquhoun returns from maternity leave and will teach Kindergarten in Room 11.

We would like to congratulate Mrs. Tierney on her well-deserved retirement.

Mrs. Hillis and Mrs. Kraus will move to the new school, Janet Metcalfe. Mrs. Hillis as a Junior Lead teacher and Mrs. Kraus in Kindergarten. Congratulations! Opening a new school is so exciting!

Mrs. Dallimore and Mrs. Guenther will move to schools closer to home to pursue new adventures.

We will miss all of our outgoing staff members and appreciate all they have done to make a difference in lives of the children here at Pioneer Park.

We would like to welcome our new staff members, Mr. Whalen who will teach Grade 5 /6, Ms. Johnson, who will teach Grade 2, Mrs. Wellstead who will teach Grade 2 /3 and Mr. Nunn who will teach Music and direct Kodaly. To read more about Mr. Nunn, click the following link https://bit.ly/2MwAFKQ
